NASA鈥橲 MIRO Funding Provides Opportunities For Xavierites In Environmental Science

Xavierite, Ke鈥橪a Kimble, a former MUREP Institutional Research Opportunity (MIRO) student at 中国A片, and current second-year doctorate candidate at the University of California San Diego, is currently researching the development of an instrument to measure viruses in individual aerosols using online mass spectrometry.听

NASA鈥檚 Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) is administered through NASA's Office of STEM Engagement. MUREP enhances the capabilities of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and other Minority Serving Institutions to contribute to the research needs of science and technology enterprises. NASA鈥檚 environmental scientists and projects are receiving a boost for some of that new research through NASA鈥檚 MUREP Institutional Research Opportunity (MIRO) funding.听

鈥淭he support I received from the MIRO program has indeed set me up for a life of fulfillment in STEM,鈥 said Kimble.
